Our Evaluations
Psychological Assessment
Psychological Assessment involves clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and objective and subjective testing. It is designed to assess functioning, determine intellectual and psychological functioning, and to provide diagnoses. Treatment recommendations are made based on the diagnoses and the specific needs of the individual. Because there can be a lot of overlap of symptoms in various psychological disorders, thorough assessment is required to determine proper diagnosis.
Autism Spectrum Disorder
An individual who experiences significant social, communication, and behavioral problems may indicate a diagnosis of Autism. We have performed hundreds of evaluations to determine levels of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If you suspect Autism, the decision to take the initial step in having your child or yourself evaluated is imperative to developing a customized treatment plan.
Neuropsychological
Neuropsychology evaluations focus on how brain functions impact human behavior. Neuropsychological evaluations are designed to determine patterns of cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Neuropsychological assessments are specifically designed tests used for the diagnosis of deficits. These evaluations are particularly useful when an individual has experienced a traumatic brain injury, dementia, or other memory or cognitive decline.
Depression & Anxiety
Depression, fear and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience. Through detailed testing and evaluation, we can help you determine a diagnosis to drive the course of treatment with the goal of regaining joy and alleviating symptoms.
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity/impulsivity. Left undiagnosed and untreated, ADHD can seriously impact an individual's performance in the academic, work and family settings. We can determine if ADHD is present and develop recommendations to ease symptoms.
Pre-Surgical Bariatric and Pain Assessments
We conduct pre-surgical evaluations to rule out psychiatric conditions potentially contra-indicative of surgery and determine the ability to participate responsibly in post-surgical recovery behaviors and implement lifestyle changes.
Trauma & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Anxiety, depression, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after traumatic events. We can help you identify these symptoms in order to guide you through the healing process.
Developmental Evaluations
Very young children who are not developing at age--appropriate levels may require evaluation. Communication, cognition, physical/motor, adaptive skills, and social functioning may be assessed to determine what areas are in need of intervention.
